Donation & Partner Organizations

Since the 501-C3 non profit status is currently pending, I’m asking each of you to kindly make a donation to one of these charities in the name of the Thumbs Up Foundation. My goal is to surpass the $10K we raised last year during the marathon fundraising campaign.

These ALS organizations played a critical role in my Mother’s fight with ALS. With your help and support we can ensure that others are not afflicted with this deadly and debilitating disease.

A.L.S. Association of Connecticut
The ALS Association (National Office and the Connecticut Chapter) operates under a shared mission: to help people living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and to leave no stone unturned in search for the cure.

We work together to accomplish our mission. The Connecticut Chapter focuses primarily on helping local patients and families live with ALS while the National Office focuses primarily on research and advocacy. The Chapter supports the National Office through revenue sharing and research contributions. The National Office supports the Chapters by providing up-to-date information and materials.

Our accomplishments are made possible by the generosity of others. From the smallest donation to the largest gift, donors touch the ALS community with hope for the future.

Project ALS
Jenifer Estess, her family, and friends, started Project A.L.S. in 1998, when Jenifer was diagnosed with the fatal brain disease at the age of thirty-five. Upon discovering that there were no effective treatments, Project A.L.S. set out to put medicine into place.  The mission today is to bring the best science to ALS patients in the form of effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Project A.L.S. has raised over $30 million, directing 81% to research programs. The majority of fundraising proceeds goes to support investigations in Genetics, Drug Discovery, Stem Cells, and Disease Pathways.  The hallmark of Project A.L.S. research is collaboration. Researchers who were competitors now play on the same team, meet regularly, share data openly, and work rationally, constructively, and aggressively toward shared goals.
